Important Information for FY 2011 Applicants

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required as part of the application for a Javits fellowship in order to complete the financial need calculation. Applicants must submit the FY 2011 FAFSA, which will be available on January 3, 2011, and must submit the form no later than January 31, 2011. Applicants may obtain a copy of the FAFSA at the Web address below or from their institution's financial aid office. Note: Applicants are encouraged to submit the FAFSA electronically since the electronic filing is faster (as much as 7 to 14 days faster) than filing a paper FAFSA.

There is no "code" for the Javits Fellowship Program. As part of the U.S. Department of Education, Javits program staff are able to access FAFSA information after it is submitted. Please submit the FAFSA according to the instructions provided; do not send your FAFSA to the Javits Program.

If you use a telecommunications device for the deaf (TDD), you may call the Federal Information Relay Service (FIRS) at 1-800-877-8339.
