Department of Education to Host 2023 National Partnership for Student Success Summit

Speakers include Secretary Miguel Cardona and AmeriCorps CEO Michael D. Smith to highlight national tutoring and mentoring efforts

The 2023 National Partnership for Student Success Summit will take place at the U.S. Department of Education (Department) on Wednesday, Nov. 1. The National Partnership for Student Success (NPSS) is a public-private partnership between the Biden-Harris Administration – led by the Department and AmeriCorps – and the Everyone Graduates Center at Johns Hopkins University.

NPSS supports states, school districts and youth-serving organizations in creating, expanding and improving high-quality tutoring, mentoring and other student-support programs. In the 2022-2023 school year, schools added an estimated additional 187,000 individuals in the high-impact student support roles supported by the NPSS, signaling significant progress towards President Biden’s goal of an additional 250,000 adults in these roles by summer 2025.

This year’s summit will celebrate the work of key stakeholders and collaborators of the NPSS, including leading education and youth serving organizations and districts, to elevate bright spots from across the country, share recent progress from the NPSS, and highlight how districts, states, universities and youth-development organizations can access the support of the NPSS.

The 2023 National Partnership for Student Success Summit will include remarks from key leaders in the field, as well as panels, fireside chats, and breakout sessions. These sessions will discuss expanding state and local partnerships for student success, increasing the supply of people ready to provide NPSS-aligned supports, expanding and amplifying service to education and youth development career pathways, and growing the NPSS coalition to include more institutions of higher education, districts, and states.
