Many schools and districts have been working to ensure that family engagement is more equitable as part of school improvement efforts. Though there is a strong body of research on equitable family engagement strategies, many schools and districts still need information about how schools equitably engage families in practice. This resource outlines guidance and provides real-world examples across five major categories of evidence-based, equitable family engagement strategies:

  1. Making a commitment to equitable family engagement.

  4. Meaningfully involving and engaging families and trusted community advocates.
  5. Engaging outside of the school building.
