State Report Card

CoP Description: This CoP guided participating state educational agencies (SEAs) through a series of engagements designed to increase their capacity to develop, implement, and continually improve their report cards as a communication vehicle to disseminate information on K-12 school performance. CoP members worked with State Support Network subject matter experts (SMEs) to:

  • Advance outcomes for students by using state report cards as a tool to improve performance at the state, district, and school levels.
  • Identify, define, and incorporate new required data elements of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 (ESEA), as reauthorized by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) of 2015, while meeting the highest standards of data quality.
  • Communicate complex data to various external and internal stakeholders.

Participating SEAs: Alabama, Arkansas, Bureau of Indian Education, Florida, Mississippi Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma
