CoP Summary

This community of practice (CoP) helped participating state education agencies (SEAs) craft thoughtful, ambitious plans for identifying and implementing evidence-based practices (EBPs). During the nine-month timespan of this CoP, participating members from 10 states engaged with State Support Network subject matter experts in eight learning cycles. The learning cycles consisted of a virtual meeting featuring content presentation and collaborative activities, bridged by asynchronous activities completed by members in the CoP's online space.

Topics for this CoP were organized around the five steps for evidence-based practices decision making:

  1. Identify Local Needs
  2. Select Relevant Evidence-Based Practices
  3. Plan for Implementation
  4. Implement
  5. Examine and Reflect

The resources below were used during learning cycle virtual meetings and asynchronous activities. They are organized in two sections. The first set of resources were provided to CoP members from subject matter experts (SMEs), and are comprised of resources those subject matter experts created for the work of the CoP and items curated from other technical assistance providers. The second set of resources were shared by participating member states.

Participating SEAs: California, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Nevada, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Vermont

CoP Duration: January 2017 through September 2017
