U.S. Secretary of Education Linda McMahon released the following statement in response to the public release of the scores from the 2024 National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) for 8th grade science and 12th grade reading and mathematics.

This program funds comprehensive literacy programs to advance literacy skills, including pre-literacy skills, reading, and writing, for children from birth through grade 12.

The Innovative Approaches to Literacy program supports high-quality programs designed to develop and improve literacy skills for children and students from birth through 12th grade in high-need local educational agencies (LEAs) and schools.
