White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans Host AfAmLit Reading Party

The White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans (Initiative), in partnership with the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships and Rev. Russell St. Bernard of Reid Temple African Methodist Episcopal Church, will host the AfAmLit Reading Party at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, D.C. at 10 a.m. ET on Monday, Aug. 29.

The event will bring together children from across the greater Washington, D.C. area to celebrate the importance of literacy in the K-12 setting and the power of #ReadingWhereYouAre to support in-school and at-home literacy building activities.
