U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and Puerto Rico Secretary of Education Eliezer Ramos Parés to Participate in Press Conference, Announce Actions to Support Students and Educators

On Friday, July 29, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Ponce, Puerto Rico where he will join Puerto Rico Secretary of Education Eliezer Ramos Parés for a tour of Escuela Superior Dr. Pila. Escuela Superior Dr. Pila has been closed for over two years due to infrastructure damage and is one of the largest schools in the southern region of Puerto Rico to be disproportionately impacted by recent earthquakes.

Afterwards, Secretaries Cardona and Ramos Parés will participate in a press conference to announce critical actions to continue supporting students and educators across Puerto Rico. They will be joined by Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Federal Disaster Recovery Coordinator Jose G. Baquero Tirado, and Ponce Regional Superintendent Dr. Roberto J. Rodríguez Santiago.
