U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos Kicks Off "Rethink School" Tour in Georgia and Alabama

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will travel to Atlanta, Georgia, and Huntsville, Alabama, to kick off her “Rethink School” tour on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018.

First, the Secretary will visit Georgia Institute of Technology to learn more about their student programs, including CREATE-X, InVenture and Project ENGAGES. She and Federal Student Aid’s Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer Wayne Johnson will also cohost a roundtable for students on campus to demonstrate the newly launched myStudentAid mobile application.

Following her visit to Georgia Institute of Technology, Secretary DeVos will visit the National Aeronautics and Space Administration’s (NASA) Marshall Space Flight Center and the U.S. Space & Rocket Center. While at the latter, she will see firsthand its hands-on, out-of-the- classroom learning experiences for students. She also will deliver remarks on the importance of rethinking education in order to improve outcomes for students.
