U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Mitchell Zais Continues 2019 Back to School Tour in North Dakota

As part of the U.S. Department of Education’s 2019 National Back to School Tour, U.S. Deputy  Secretary of Education Mitchell Zais will travel to North Dakota on Thursday afternoon, Sept. 19, to visit Legacy High School in Bismarck. Dr. Zais will visit career and technical education (CTE) classrooms, along with reading strategies and other courses, to learn about how they are rethinking education and preparing students for success. He will also hold round table discussions with teachers and students and hold a press Q&A.

Dr. Zais will conclude his Back to School Tour travel on Friday, with a tour of Magic City Campus High School in Minot, North Dakota to observe their CTE program.

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos’ Education Freedom Scholarships proposal, introduced in both the House and Senate, could help states like North Dakota expand CTE and other education options to meet students needs.
