On Wednesday, Jan. 25, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Education Cindy Marten will kick-off her “Raise the Bar: Lead the World” tour by traveling to Mesa, Arizona, to meet with students, parents, teachers and community members to discuss ways schools can promote academic excellence and prepare for global competitiveness.
On Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will deliver a major address called “Raise the Bar: Lead the World,” where the Secretary will lay out the U.S. Department of Education’s focus for the year, building off his priorities to promote academic excellence and prepare for global competitiveness outlined last year.
Throughout the visit, The Arizona State University and Mesa Public School District will highlight their Next Education Workforce model, which simultaneously addresses improving working conditions for educators and learning outcomes for students, by developing teams of educators who share rosters of students. The Next Education Workforce model allows for teachers to adapt instruction to meet the needs of individual students and leverage different areas of expertise among teachers.
