U.S. Department of Education Kicks Off Summer Reading Program at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts

WASHINGTON—To encourage students to stay actively engaged in their education and to continue learning while on summer break, U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will kick off the Education Department’s summer reading program on Wednesday, July 12, at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.

Tomorrow’s reading event will mark the first of multiple activities the Secretary will host throughout the summer. Students who attend will have the opportunity to read with the Secretary, explore the Kennedy Center, and enjoy a private concert by high school students participating in the Kennedy Center’s Summer Music Institute.
