U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools, District and Postsecondary Sustainability Awardees to be Honored

Assistant U.S. Secretary of Elementary and Secondary Education Frank Brogan, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Education Director Louisa Koch, Director of the Campaign for Environmental Literacy James L. Elder, and Director of the Center for Green Schools at the US Green Building Council Anisa Heming will honor the 2018 U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools, District Sustainability Awardees, and Postsecondary Sustainability Awardees at 2 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C.

The awardees are recognized for reducing their environmental impact, creating healthy learning environments and providing real-world sustainability education that prepares students to succeed in the 21st century.
