Secretary Miguel Cardona to Visit Fort Foote Elementary School to Observe Academic Recovery in Action

On Monday, Oct. 24, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will visit Fort Foot Elementary School in Fort Washington, Maryland to tour classrooms and observe how the school is using American Rescue Plan (ARP) investments to support K-12 students’ academic recovery from the pandemic. Following the tour, the Secretary will talk with parents about what the school is doing to help their students’ catch up. This portion is not open to press.

This year will be one of the most important ever, as our schools and colleges not only work to catch students up and recover from the pandemic, but also to put them in a position to succeed at even higher levels than before March 2020.
