Secretary DeVos Visits Tennessee to Promote Education Freedom Scholarships

Nashville, Tennessee — U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will join Governor Bill Lee in Nashville, Tennessee, on Monday, April 1, 2019, to learn more about their state-based school choice policy proposals and to discuss how Education Freedom Scholarships could help enhance their efforts.

The visit will begin with a roundtable discussion with families, educators, stakeholders and local elected leaders and end with a visit to LEAD Cameron, a public charter middle school with a proven turnaround success story. According to school leadership, LEAD Cameron has moved from one of the state's lowest performing "Priority Schools" to currently ranking in the top five percent for academic growth.
