Secretary DeVos to Host Education and Workforce Roundtable in Fairbanks

Event Hosted in Conjunction with the University of Alaska, the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce and Local Business and Community Leaders

U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will host a workforce development roundtable in Fairbanks on Thursday, Aug. 29, in conjunction with the University of Alaska, the Greater Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce and community and business leaders.

The conversation will focus on the efforts education and business leaders have undertaken in the region to ensure that students are prepared to successfully enter the workforce.

The Secretary has traveled around the country to highlight local efforts to provide students with career-based learning opportunities and to encourage local leaders to break down the silos that exist between education and industry so that all students can be prepared for the in-demand, high-paying jobs of today’s economy and tomorrow’s
