Secretary DeVos to Highlight Second Chance Education Program

PENDLETON, Ind. — U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos will visit the Pendleton Juvenile Correctional Facility on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2019, to highlight a second chance education program that teaches incarcerated individuals computer coding. The Last Mile teaches young adult learners front end software engineering, and upon completion of the one year program, they will have the skills to be hired as entry level coders.

A valid media credential and photo ID will be required for access to the event.
