Secretary DeVos Continues 2019 Back to School Tour in Cleveland to Highlight Innovative Education Options Meeting the Needs of Local Students

Cleveland, OH- U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos continues her 2019 Back-to-School tour in Cleveland on Tuesday, Sept. 17.

The Secretary will first visit Great Lakes Science Center, where community partnerships drive a series of future STEM workforce development programs in advanced manufacturing and in emerging technologies. She will tour the Science Center as well as MC2STEM, a school on-site that developed out of a partnership with Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD). This project-based learning environment gives students the freedom to learn in a place that’s hands-on and relevant to their interests.

Following the school visit, Secretary DeVos will tour EDWIN’s Leadership and Restaurant Institute where formerly incarcerated individuals are given the tools they need to transition home, including the opportunity to learn a skilled and in-demand trade in the culinary arts.
