Secretary Cardona Travels to Seattle, Washington, to Discuss Career and Technical Education with U.S. Reps. Suzan DelBene and Pramila Jayapal
On Friday, June 9, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Seattle, Washington, where he will focus on career and technical education in both a K-12 school and a college. In the morning, Secretary Cardona will tour Seattle Maritime Academy with U.S. Rep. Pramila Jayapal to learn more about the college’s focus on technical education into maritime careers. In the afternoon, he will tour Lake Washington High School with U.S. Rep. Suzan DelBene to see their robotics and urban agriculture programs and learn more about how they are preparing students for the influx of jobs beyond high school graduation.
A press gaggle will take place following each event.
This trip comes on the heels of the launch of President Biden’s Investing in America agenda of growing the American economy from the bottom up and middle-out – from rebuilding our nation’s infrastructure, to driving over $470 billion in private sector manufacturing and clean energy investments in the United States, to creating good paying jobs and building a clean-energy economy that will combat climate change and make our communities more resilient.
