On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will continue his travel blitz across the country highlighting summer learning opportunities that are preparing students to return to in-person learning in the fall and critical investments from the Biden-Harris Administration that are helping schools and communities recover from the pandemic and build back better.

Secretary Cardona will join NBA Cares Ambassador and former NBA player Jason Collins and entertainment executives, artists, and education non-profit leaders to attend a "Field Day" mentoring event as part of the READY SET initiative, created by the Creative Artists Agency Foundation and the U.S. Department of Education in collaboration with leading service organizations MENTOR, VolunteerMatch, schoolhouse.world, and the federal agency for national service and volunteering AmeriCorps. During the event, Secretary Cardona will tout the American Rescue Plan's investment in summer programing and push the Build Back Better agenda while joined by students, mentors, and education advocates from Hollywood.
