Secretary Cardona to Discuss Vision for Supporting and Lifting Up the Teaching Profession in Fireside Chat with Bank Street College

On Thursday, U.S Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will lay out his vision for supporting educators across the country and elevating the teaching profession before an audience of teachers and teacher candidates. During the event, Secretary Cardona will deliver remarks and participate in a fireside chat with Executive Director of Prepared to Teach Karen DeMoss. Secretary Cardona will discuss how the U.S. Department of Education, states and districts, and higher education institutions can recruit, prepare, and keep great teachers in the profession and, in turn, improve our education system across the country. He also will highlight the work the Department has done to support teachers since the beginning of the Biden-Harris Administration and share his own experience and perspective as a former teacher, principal, and school administrator.

More information on the Secretary’s vision will be shared with reporters closer to the event time.
