Secretary Cardona and Rep. Andy Levin Highlight COVID-19 Vaccine Sites, American Families Plan with Visits to Colleges in Dearborn and Warren, Michigan
On Tuesday, June 8, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will visit community colleges in Dearborn and Warren, Michigan where he will highlight the COVID-19 College Challenge and the American Families Plan, a once-in-a-generation investment in our nation’s future.
The COVID-19 College Challenge is part of the Biden Administration's month of action in June encouraging Americans to get vaccinated. As part of this effort, the Biden-Harris Administration is galvanizing colleges and universities to reach young people where they are, with information they can use, through trusted messengers they rely on, and provide them opportunities and access to vaccinations.
Secretary Cardona will begin with a visit to Henry Ford College in Dearborn, where he will tour the school’s vaccine clinic and speak to community members and college leaders. He will continue with a visit to Macomb Community College where he will join Rep. Andy Levin for a tour of the facility. Together, Secretary Cardona and Rep. Levin will speak with students and college leaders about the American Families Plan, which includes a provision that would provide two years of free community college education to Americans.
