Secretary Cardona to Visit Webb Middle School in Austin, Texas, to Discuss Importance of Multilingual Accessibility with Parents
On Friday, March 10, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will continue his travels in Austin, Texas, to hear firsthand from parents about the importance of multilingual and multicultural education programs at Webb Middle School. He will tour the school and then participate in a roundtable discussion with parents to discuss the importance of multilingual accessibility. This trip comes on the heels of Secretary Cardona’s recent major address, “Raise the Bar: Lead the World,” where he laid out his continued priorities to promote academic excellence and create pathways for global engagements by providing every student with a pathway to multilingualism. A press gaggle will take place after the roundtable.
Later in the day, Secretary Cardona will moderate a panel discussion at South by Southwest (SXSW) titled “Raising the Bar: Public-Private Partnerships, Unlocking Career Success.” The discussion will focus on ways to strengthen public-private partnerships as a means of developing and implementing career pathways programs, with a focus on diversifying the workforce.
