Secretary Cardona Joins Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont and U.S. Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal for Visit to Middlesex Community College to Discuss Importance of Workforce Development Programs
On Friday, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will travel to Middletown, Connecticut with Gov. Ned Lamont, U.S. Senators Chris Murphy and Richard Blumenthal, and Alphabet Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat to discuss new opportunities for workforce development programs available to high school and community college students throughout the state. The programs support career readiness and connections to further postsecondary opportunities. Secretary Cardona and Gov. Lamont will tour the new media and ophthalmology centers at Middlesex Community College. Afterwards, they will participate in a panel discussion with students and education leaders about innovative ways external partners are working with community colleges across Connecticut to offer career pathways for college students.
A press gaggle will follow the panel. In accordance with local guidelines, each event will require attendees and reporters to wear a mask while indoors.
