CUNY Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez and Guttman Community College President Larry Johnson, Jr. will host U.S. Under Secretary of Education James Kvaal for a visit that will include a briefing on Guttman’s unique and high-impact educational model, which was designed to close equity gaps, and has yielded retention and graduation rates at nearly twice the national average. Afterwards, Under Secretary Kvaal will speak with students about the importance of mental health services and how the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) can be used to support these services for students nationwide.
