Assistant Secretary for the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services Alexa Posny will discuss recent State granted waivers offering flexibility to the No Child Left Behind requirements during the State Personnel Development Grants (SPDGs) National Meeting on Wednesday, March 7 in Arlington, Va. The theme of this year’s national meeting is Building Stronger Professional Development Systems Through a Focus on Implementation.
The goal of OSEP’s SPDGs is to assist State Education Agencies and their partners to reform early intervention, educational, and transitional services systems to improve results for children with disabilities. To achieve this goal, the SPDGs are used to improve systems of professional development, technical assistance and dissemination of best practices. Posny will address more than 100 grantees who have gathered to share strategies, tools, and resources.
