Later in the day at 11 a.m., U.S. Under Secretary of Education Ted Mitchell, who oversees higher education programs at the Department, will participate in a panel discussion titled, "A Necessary Evolution: Higher Education." Mitchell will discuss the Obama Administration's investments across education from preK-12, through higher education and into the workforce, to better prepare students for college and career.

Teach For America works in partnership with communities to expand educational opportunity for children facing the challenges of poverty. Founded in 1990, Teach For America recruits and develops a diverse corps of outstanding college graduates and professionals to make an initial two-year commitment to teach in high-need schools and become lifelong leaders in the effort to end educational inequity. The 25th Anniversary Summit will bring together the Teach For America community, including corps members, alumni and staff as well as national and regional board members, donors, students and their families, supporters, external partners and a broad group of leaders in education to share ideas and renew commitment to provide an excellent education for all students.
