With the upcoming anniversary of Title IX, Secretary Cardona will join Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens and local officials for a tour of the Martin Luther King Jr. Recreation and Aquatic Center. This event is open press.

In honor of the 50th anniversary of the signing of Title IX, Secretary Cardona will give opening remarks at the U.S. Department of Education and the Women's Sports Foundation’s (WSF) 'Title IX 50th Anniversary Field Day' for Washington D.C. and Baltimore-area students (ages 8 – 14 years old). This event will encourage students to get involved in STEM activities, try new sports, hear from champion athletes and leaders, and learn how Title IX impacts their lives. Secretary Cardona will join American Federation of Teachers (AFT) for a conversation about the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program and efforts AFT is doing to educate union members to apply for the program. This event is open to press.

Secretary Cardona will travel to Chicago to participate in the White House Initiative Latino Regional Economic Summit at the Malcolm X College. Secretary Cardona will be joined by Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, U.S. Rep. Danny K. Davis, U.S. Rep. Jesús “Chuy” García, Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, and other Biden-Harris Administration senior officials, and Illinois leaders. The White House Initiative Latino Economic Summit in Chicago is the third in a series that began in March in San Antonio following a partnership announcement between the Biden-Harris Administration and the Aspen Institute. These forums highlight the Administration’s commitment to advancing equity and economic empowerment and connect local Latino community members directly with federal leaders and resources.
