Tuesday, September 7
Secretary Cardona will join President Joe Biden and the White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities for the 2021 National HBCU Week Conference. Secretary Cardona will travel to Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, where he will join U.S. Rep. Madeleine Dean to visit Montgomery County Community College. Secretary Cardona and Congresswoman Dean will tour the college and hold two roundtable policy discussions with educators and students on the future of education and the Build Back Better agenda and a listening session with students from area colleges.
Wednesday, September 8
Secretary Cardona and National Education Association President Becky Pringle will travel to Delran, New Jersey where they will visit Delran School District, part of the New Jersey Public School Labor Management Collaborative, to speak with educators, administrators and other state and local leaders about the union-management partnership that has positively impacted student achievement and outcomes for educators prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Friday, September 10
Secretary Cardona will join President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden on a visit of a local school in Washington, DC. The President and First Lady will deliver remarks about how the Administration is helping to keep students safe in classrooms, and highlight some of the announcements the President made yesterday. This visit will be pooled press.
Saturday, September 11
Secretary Cardona will give brief remarks at the City of Meriden's 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony Commemorating the 20th Anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 Attacks. The City of Meriden will be holding a 9/11 Ceremony outside of City Hall and they are inviting residents and community members to join in remembering the lives that were taken and all who were affected by Sept. 11th.
