- Community College Stackable Credentials — The Initiative builds the capacity of consortia of community colleges or state community and technical college systems to improve CTE credential attainment rates among youth and adults enrolled in degree programs at community colleges.
- Registered Apprenticeship College Consortium — A network of Colleges and Registered Apprenticeship Programs working together to provide college-to-career opportunities.
- White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans—This initiative will help identify evidence-based best practices for the improvement African American student achievement—from cradle to career. It will also work across federal agencies and with partners and communities nationwide to produce a more effective continuum of education programs for African American students.
- White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for Hispanics—The purpose of this initiative is to work directly with stakeholders, linking together key individuals and organizations from across the country in order to increase awareness of educational inequalities that persist, along with communicating and sharing programs and resources available to the community.
- White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders—This Initiative works to improve the quality of life for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders across the nation through increased access to and participation in federal programs.
- White House Initiative on Historically Black Colleges and Universities—This initiative focuses on overcoming the effects of discriminatory treatment and strengthening and expanding the capacity of historically black colleges and universities to provide quality education.
- White House Initiative on American Indian and Alaskan Native Education—This Initiative, located within the Department of Education, seeks to support activities that will strengthen the Nation by expanding education opportunities and improving education outcomes for all American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) students.
- Federal Student Aid Experimental Sites - This Initiative—or "experiments," as they are frequently called—tests the effectiveness of statutory and regulatory flexibility for participating institutions disbursing Title IV student aid. The Department of Education has waived specific statutory or regulatory requirements at the postsecondary institutions, or consortia of institutions, approved to participate in the experiments. By contrasting the results achieved with the flexibilities with results under current regulations, the Department has data to support changes to regulations and statute. The outcomes of experiments have the potential to benefit all postsecondary institutions and the students they serve.
