Impact Aid Grants

Impact Aid was designed to assist local school districts that have lost property tax revenue due to the presence of tax- exempt Federal property, or that have experienced increased expenditures due to the enrollment of federally connected children, including children living on Indian lands. 

Impact Aid Section 7002 – Payments for Federal Property

Payments for Federal Property assist local school districts that have lost a portion of their local tax base because of Federal ownership of property.

Section 7003 – Payments for Federally Connected Children

The Payments for Federally Connected Children (Section 7003 grants) help educate federally connected children.

Discretionary Construction Grants–Impact Aid Section 7007(b)

Funds emergency repairs and modernization of school facilities to certain eligible local educational agencies (LEAs) that receive Impact Aid.

Impact Aid Section 7008 – Facilities Maintenance

Section 7008 grants maintain federally owned school facilities and restore or improve them where appropriate to enable an LEA to accept ownership.
