Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 Charter Schools Program (CSP) Competitions Call for Peer Reviewers

Announcing New FY 2025 CSP CMO Grant Awards
At the conclusion of National Charter Schools Week 2025, on May 16, 2025, Secretary of Education Linda McMahon announced that the Trump Administration will increase funding for the Charter Schools Program (CSP) by $60 million for the fiscal year 2025. This increase will raise the total budget for the program to a historic high of $500 million. Secretary McMahon also introduced a new grant opportunity within the CSP called the Model Development and Dissemination Grant Program and announced that the Department will be holding grant competitions across all six charter school grant programs. Program Description
The Charter School Programs (CSP) provides funds to:
- create promising new public charter schools,
- replicate high-quality public charter schools, and
- disseminate information about effective practices within charter schools.
Federal funds are also available to help charter schools:
- find suitable facilities;
- reward high-quality charter schools that form exemplary collaborations with traditional public schools; and
- invest in other national initiatives that support charter schools.
Each year, the CSP publishes notices inviting applications in the Federal Register for CSP's federal discretionary grant programs.
