First of all: that marching band looks awesome.
It's a joy to be here in Tennessee. You're known as the "Volunteer State" for a reason. Tennesseans stepped up to help – you helped our country, you volunteered. And that's what Tennesseans are all about.
I can't tell you how thrilled I am to have Dr. Biden with us.

And thank you to our First Lady, Dr. Biden. As an educator, let me tell you: it makes a difference to know we have an educator in the White House. Thank you for all you're doing to elevate teaching and support teachers of color.

Traveling to Washington in the final weeks of summer is a big ask. Some of you even canceled vacations to be here. If you need an apology note for your spouse, let me know.
