Good morning. Thank you so much for inviting me.
As you can imagine, it's been a pretty eventful couple of weeksfrom starting a new jobto moving my familyto passing a massive stimulus bill that includes over $100 billion in new funding for education.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that $44 billion in stimulus funding from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) will be available to states in the next 30 to 45 days.

U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan today visited Explore Charter School in Brooklyn to discuss the importance of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in saving jobs and advancing reforms. He discussed the state-by-state estimates of new education revenues included in the stimulus bill and set a goal of releasing a third of the more than $100 billion in funding within 30 days.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan delivered remarks today at the American Council on Education's (ACE) 2009 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. The ACE represents accredited, degree-granting colleges and universities and higher education in the U.S. Together, ACE member institutions represent almost 80 percent of today's college students.
