U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced the award of $100 million in Magnet School grants to 36 school districts in 15 states. The awards will help school districts increase public school choices for parents and help districts attract a diverse group of students from throughout their communities.

The U.S. Department of Education today announced the award of more than $3.5 million in grants to operate 15 special education Parent Training and Information (PTI) Centers in 11 states, the District of Columbia, the Virgin Islands, and Guam. The Department also awarded $1 million to provide funding for ten Community Parent Resource Centers (CPRCs).

The U.S. Department of Education awarded nearly $15 million to 42 local educational agencies in 20 states across the country to establish or expand counseling programs. Grantees will use funds to support counseling programs in target elementary or secondary schools.

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan today announced that an additional $11,994,405 is now available for the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009. To date, CNMI has received $48,922,625 through the ARRA.
