King Jr., spoke at a college fair at Craigmont High School in Memphis, Tennessee, on Wednesday, Sept. 14, to highlight ways that students and parents can access and pay for college, as part of this year's "Opportunity Across America" back-to-school bus tour. The Secretary shared information about the new, early Oct. 1 availability of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the College Scorecard—both resources that help students prepare to apply for college.

King, Jr., delivered remarks at the U.S. Department of Education Headquarters in Washington, D.C., before setting off on the seventh annual back-to-school bus tour of the Obama Administration to celebrate progress in communities and states across the country. The tour kicked off in the nation's capital and ended in Louisiana. King and other senior Department officials held events highlighting the Administration's key education initiatives and the progress made to expand opportunity across the nation, as well as the groundwork laid for continued momentum.
