Career and Technical Education


The Division of Academic and Technical Education (DATE) is responsible for helping all students acquire challenging academic, technical, and employability skills to succeed in postsecondary education and in-demand careers.

To this end, the division:

  • Administers formula and discretionary grant programs under the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (Perkins).
  • Provides assistance to help State improve program administration, implementation, and accountability.
  • Implements national initatives that support high-quality career and technical education programs.
