On Wednesday, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona will continue touring schools in Southern California with a visit to Los Angeles High School of the Arts at Robert F. Kennedy Community School. Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti and Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Superintendent Alberto M. Carvalho will join Secretary Cardona on the tour. Highlights of the tour will include how LAUSD is leveraging American Rescue Plan funds and other pandemic relief funds to support student learning and help students recover from the pandemic.
After the tour, Secretary Cardona, Mayor Garcetti, and Superintendent Carvalho will participate in a conversation with district parents. Together, they will discuss efforts to support positive mental health outcomes among students, especially as students and communities continue to recover from the pandemic. The conversation will occur in English and Spanish.
