On Friday, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona and U.S. Rep. Melanie Stansbury will tour Atrisco Heritage Academy High School in Albuquerque, New Mexico where they will learn more about the community schools model and the wrap around services offered to students and families.  
 

During the tour they will visit the school’s health clinic, followed by a Culinary Arts class where in honor of Earth Day, students will demonstrate and discuss how they are learning about Indigenous and traditional New Mexican foods, sustainability, and healthy diets for themselves and their peers. 
 

After the tour, Secretary Cardona and Rep. Stansbury will participate in a conversation with students, parents, and educators about their experiences throughout the pandemic and how American Rescue Plan funds and the wrap around services provided to students have ensured their social, emotional and academic success.   
 

A press gaggle will follow the roundtable discussion.
