OSEP: RTP, Early Childhood and Parent Team

ECPT

The Early Childhood and Parent Team of OSERS Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) administers discretionary grants and cooperative agreements for projects that directly support federally established priorities and initiatives to improve current practice or advance the state-of-the-art related to the provision of services for infants, toddlers, and pre-school-aged children with disabilities and for parents of children with disabilities. The team is responsible for administering projects to:

  • help address state-identified needs for personnel -- in early intervention, special education, and related services; and
  • ensure that those personnel have the necessary skills to be successful.

In addition, the team is responsible for administering projects to promote the use of technology and projects to provide technical assistance to government and non-profit entities that serve young children with disabilities. The team also manages a program of training and information services for parents of infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities.
