The Office of Migrant Education (OME) is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving as Peer Reviewers for the FY 2026 High School Equivalency Program (HEP) and the College Assistance Migrant Program (CAMP) grant competitions.

Peer Reviewer Role Description
- Review, assess, and score grant applications based on selection criteria established by the OME;
- Write detailed comments in response to selection criteria;
- Participate in panel call discussions; and
- Revise scores and/or comments based on feedback from the U.S. Department of Education (Department).
Qualifications
Eligible applicants must have:
- Earned a postsecondary degree from an accredited institution of higher education;
- Demonstrated knowledge of, or have professional job experience in addressing, the needs of seasonal and migratory farmworkers or adult learners;
- Experience in grant-funded project design and management;
- Demonstrated knowledge of, or professional job experience in, the principles of educational evaluation; and
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (written and verbal) and a high level of attention to detail.
Conflict of Interest
Anyone affiliated with an organization that is applying for an FY 2026 HEP or CAMP grant is ineligible to participate as a Peer Reviewer. Additionally, an individual who is currently involved in the preparation of an FY 2026 HEP or CAMP grant application, or would stand to benefit if an FY 2026 HEP or CAMP applicant were to receive funding, is ineligible to participate as a Peer Reviewer.
Payment
Payment will be $240 per application with an average of 8-10 applications reviewed per person.

- If you are selected, you will be contacted by the OME team and/or OME Contractor and asked to provide contact information, availability, and potential conflicts of interest.

HEP helps migratory and seasonal farm workers obtain the equivalent of a high school diploma and gain employment or postsecondary education/training.
CAMP assists students who are migratory or seasonal farmworkers enrolled in their first year of undergraduate studies.
