Explanation of slide: This graph, taken from the AimsWEB product, shows the student’s data (red diamonds), the aimline or goal line (solid black line), and the slope or trend of the data (red line). In this example, the student is shown to be declining in performance across the 3 weeks that data were collected. The calculation of Slope in this example is done using a statistical procedure known as linear regression and offers an easy mathematical way for slope to be determined.
