The slide shows a graphic organizer that will help students understand the meanings of new vocabulary words.
In the middle of the graphic organizer is a rectangle. The rectangle is surrounded by four spaces where students must fill in information, one above, one below and one on each side of the rectangle. In the middle rectangle on the graphic organizer, students write one new vocabulary word. In the space above the rectangle, students write the definition of the word. In the space to the left of the rectangle, students write two or three examples of the vocabulary word. In the space to the right of the rectangle, students write what the vocabulary word is not - non examples. In the space below the rectangle, students write a description of the vocabulary word.
