Explanation for slide:

• This slide is a semantic map for vocabulary words. A semantic map helps students see how the new vocabulary words are related to each other.
• In the center of the page there is a place for students to write the concept or topic of what they are studying. Around the edges of the paper are places to write the related vocabulary words. Lines extend from the center of the page (the concept or topic) to each place where students write a related word.
