You? Think about college now in middle school or junior high? Yes! It's time to think about why you should go even if no one in your family ever went to college. If you learn differently or have special needs you also need to start planning for college early.
By college we mean education after high school. This includes 2-year community or junior colleges, business schools and vocational technical schools as well as 4-year colleges and universities.
We don't mean you need to know exactly what you want to be when you grow up. It's OK not to know yet. But it's time to start thinking about what you like to do, what you're good at, and what makes you happy. Things like that. Those things can give you clues to what you might like to explore in education after high school and in the world of work.
