U.S. Production of S&E Graduates*

U.S. College and University Graduates, 1966-2001

This chart shows that the number of Baccalaureate degrees in all fields in the academic year ending in 1966 was approximately 500,000 and had increased to approximately 1.25 million by the academic year ending in 2001. The number of S&E Baccalaureate degrees (excluding Engr Tech and Health/Med Sci) was approximately 200,000 in the academic year ending in 1966 and had increased to approximately 400,000 by the academic year ending in 2001.
