Physical Review Trends

Physical Review & Physical Review Letters Total Submissions

This chart shows that most of the growth of Physical Review has come from papers submitted from outside the United States. In 1983, there were about 8,500 total submissions: approximately 4,500 from the United States, 2,000 from Western Europe, and 2,000 from the rest of the world. By 1999, the total number of submissions had increased to about 23,000: approximately 6,000 from the United States, 8,000 from Western Europe, and 9,000 from the rest of the world.
