Twenty-eight Parental Information and Resource Centers have been funded through the Goals 2000: Educate America Act. For more information on these parent centers, call 202-401-0039. Title I of the Improving America's Schools Act, which provides resources to schools needing extra help to strengthen programs in the basics and core academics, encourages the creation of school-parent compacts. The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act funds 70 Parent Training and Information Projects across the 50 states to help parents of children with disabilities. The U.S. Department of Education supplies two-thirds of all financial aid for families to help students go to college (loans and grants).
