Activity Sheet A: Putting Your School's Compact Into Action

These questions will help the Core and Invention Teams assess the extent to which administrators and teachers are meeting their commitments in their Compact for Reading.

School Administrators

	Have you set and publicized high standards in reading and other language arts for your school? Yes     No
	Have you conducted workshops for teachers and parents on reading standards to explain what they are, what they mean, and how to put them into practice at school and at home? Yes     No
	Have you held training workshops for teachers on how to put the best of research into practice in the school's classrooms so that standards can be met and children can improve their skills and achievement? Yes     No
	Have you identified resources to ensure the high standards are met and that the Compact is able to be implemented in your school? Yes     No
	Have you provided workshops for families and tutors on how to help children after school and at home with specially targeted materials like the School-Home Links? Yes     No
