About the Author

Susan D. Otterbourg is the program director of The Conference Board's Business and Education Conference. For more than 35 years she has had a rich and diversified career in education, serving as both an elementary and secondary teacher, a district administrator, a school board trustee, and a consultant to urban and suburban school districts, government, and business. She is considered an authority on the development, implementation, and evaluation of partnerships involving business, education, and the community.

Dr. Otterbourg is an honors graduate of Smith College, and has a master's degree from Queens College, New York City, and master's and doctorate degrees from Teachers College, Columbia University.
