Paraprofessionals, recent college graduates, and mid-career professionals are being recruited for this program to fill high-need areas in secondary mathematics, science, social studies, and English, with special education and literacy approval in the Newport News Public School System. Candidates receive training in content areas, performance standards, pedagogy, related curriculum, classroom management, and technology. Mentors are provided during the first three years of teaching.
